The Japan Direct Marketing Association
is the official representative body of the direct marketing
industry in Japan, operating as a non-profit organization with the support
of the Ministry
of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The association was founded in October 1983, to promote fair trading
and a code of commercial ethics within the direct marketing industry,
and to act as the central body to coordinate self-regulations within
the industry as required under
the 1989 revision of the Door-to-door Sales Law.
- Institute for Direct Marketing
The JADMA has its research arm, The Institute for Direct Marketing,
which is also a non-profit organisation. The Institute's activities
include: surveys, research coordination, information retrieval,
publications, international seminars and symposia, etc., for member

- Foreign Catalogue Library

OnJune 1,1995, JADMA added "Foreign
Catalogues" section in its catalog library. It is open
to public and currently approx. 250 foreign catalogues
are exhibited. Next to it, more than 400 catalogues of JADMA
Members are exhibited.
